Casting

Monday .AM.

Lancastrian primary school was overtaken with excitement this morning because art incite week has taken over. We all had lots of fun, when we visited the casting group it was very loud and amazing. Everyone was cheering and shouting in excitement and photographers were outstanding at taking pictures and it was a very hard job to do.

The teachers were very excited and nervous. And there were some children that got to audition to get in the cast. They worked really hard to get in the cast, some people were doing different things like costume department, marketing, set and props. In the casting room they picked 5 boys to do a robot dance.

You may think it is easy to do these things ,but it takes guts to do them.”It is really fun but extra hard” said an exhausted member of the set and props department. By Basira and Louis.

Summary of Day One

At 9am on Monday morning the children of Lancasterian Primary School were whisked into the hall for the exciting opening of ‘Arts Insight Week.’ Raucous laughs could be heard through the corridors, along with clapping and cheering. The energy can only be compared to that of an Olympic Stadium.

As the day progressed, children busily settled down into the their departments: marketing, set and props, costume, newsroom, photography and of course the cast. Actors were practicing their lines in the main hall, whilst upstairs t-shirts were being designed and invitations were quickly, but carefully being prepared. Flashes from the cameras could be seen all over the building. “It’s like working in a busy West End theatre!” Said one of the hundreds of enthusiastic participants.

The preparations for the productions on Friday are well and truly underway!
